This adds the muted role to the user for the selected duration. This action does not delete selected messages, but attaches them to the action in the moderation log.
- If the user is already muted then muting them again will change the duration of their existing mute.
Reversing the mute
Reversing this action will remove the muted role from the user and reinstate any other roles that may have been affected by the mute. The original mute action will remain in their history.
Persistence
The mute will remain in place if the user leaves the server and comes back.
Security
Muting a user requires that the Bot user has the ‘Mute members’ authority.
- Reversing a mute requires that the Bot user has the ‘Unmute members’ authority.
