This will ban a user and will purge their recent messages. All purged messages will be attached to the ban action.
- If a user is banned after they have left the server, a pending user ban will be created. This ban will be carried out immediately the user attempts to rejoin the server.
If the Bot is not used to ban a user, a Moderator note will be automatically added to the user’s history indicating who carried out the ban.
Reversing a ban
Reversing this action will allow the user to rejoin the server if they choose to do so. The original ban action will remain in their history.
- If a user was manually banned (outside of the Bot) their bans can not be reversed through the bot.
Security
Banning a user requires that the Bot user has the ‘Ban members’ authority. Users who are marked as unbannable in Discord itself cannot be banned.
